The guys weren’t worried that their tastes in women would overlap. ‘We say that no matter who we’re dating, they get the both of us.’ For him, there was a link between “how they handled these challenges and how they can handle a relationship,” DelVecchio says. “How treat people is very important to me, I’m attracted to that,” he says. “It works, because if you can live with somebody, you can ”īeing so close to the women meant it was easy to see how they interacted with one another - something that was vital to how DelVecchio selected a partner. “We moved in with women on Day One,” says DelVecchio, who says the girls were initially shocked. Each episode ends in an elimination ceremony.īut there’s a big twist: Unlike on “The Bachelor,” DelVecchio and Guadagnino live in the mansion alongside their romantic contenders - forcing things to get intimate real quick. They face-off in challenges that test their feelings for the two men, who get to know them better on one-on-one and group dates. The show is a lot like “The Bachelor”: 20 women move into a mansion to compete for the self-described guidos’ love. “It’s the only way that you could get us to be in one place and go on dates with real people,” says Guadagnino. “Double Shot,” the guys say, allows them to shift their focus to finding lady loves. On the last season of their most recent show, “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation,” the two went so far as to make their love official in a “brommitment” ceremony that took place in a Las Vegas chapel and was officiated by an Elvis impersonator.īut with all of their filming commitments, appearances and DelVecchio’s busy DJing schedule, the guys have struggled to find the time to date in the real world. While the pair never found romantic love on their decade-old reality show, they say their love for one another is unparalleled. So his “Jersey Shore” co-stars Vinny Guadagnino and Paul DelVecchio headed to LA, where they filmed their own dating competition show, “Double Shot at Love with DJ Pauly D and Vinny,” which premieres Thursday at 8 p.m. As some wise guidos once said, “Never fall in love at the Jersey Shore.”
